Dear Parents,

The safety of our students, their families and our Hebrew School staff, is of our highest priority. Therefore, in order to have an in person program, we have implemented protocols to follow the most current guidelines set forth by the CDC, the state of California and in consultation with local health professionals.

We are committing to reassess the COVID-19 situation in our area before the January term and will make changes accordingly.

The protocols are as follows:

  • Temperature checks will be taken at dropoff. Any student with an elevated temperature will be sent home.
  • Parents will fill out a questionnaire online prior to arrival, confirming that the child does not have any COVID symptoms and has not been in contact with a person diagnosed with COVID.
  • There will be no more than 10 students per class
  • Students will remain with their class during the Hebrew School day and will not mix with other classes at any time during the day.
  • Students will be seated distanced from each other.
  • All classes will take place outdoors weather permitting.
  • There will be hand sanitizing stations that will be used throughout the day, including the beginning of the day.
  • All teachers and staff will be required to wear masks.
  • All students ages 5+ will be required to wear masks.
  • Food items will be individually packaged.

Sick Policy:

  • Please check your child’s temperature at home prior to coming to Hebrew School if they may be ill.
  • Keep your child home if they are showing any signs or symptoms of illness.
  • Children must be symptom free (without the aid of a fever reducing medication) for 72 hours.
  • If your child has an excessive and unusual runny nose, cough or sneeze, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, loss of taste or smell, or any other symptoms typical of COVID-19, the student will be separated from the group until they can be picked up by a parent or guardian.
  • If you, your spouse or other members of your family have a temperature or are sick, we respectfully request that you keep your child/ren home.
  • The success of in person Hebrew School depends upon all families openly and honestly communicating whether anyone in their home has tested positive or even has any related symptoms.

With everyone following all the necessary proactive precautions, we are confident that your child(ren) can be provided with an amazing, educational and exciting year at Danville Hebrew! Nonetheless, we cannot guarantee that COVID-19 or other illnesses will not occur. No one can make that guarantee. Please make the best decision for you and your family.
